Nature is awesome - intricate, beautiful and sometimes bizarre. I try to capture every detail in my drawings and paintings and I love to be able to bring the outside world into people's homes. If I can inspire others to become more aware of the many vitally important conservation issues we face today I am both humbled and honoured to be able to contribute in my small way.
I live in the Northern Rivers region of NSW Australia and I've loved nature, animals and anything creative ever since I can remember. I studied art at school, wanting to be a graphic designer and then a biological illustrator. 'Sensible girls' didn't go to art college back then, so secretarial school it was - I often wonder how different my life would have been had I gone for the art college option!
Later I completed a Certificate III in Drawing (Hons) and also enjoyed classes in life drawing and printmaking. My pen and ink drawing gradually evolved into the realistic fine-detail technique which I love - it lends itself perfectly to capturing all of our furry and feathered friends. I'm particularly drawn (pun intended!) to portraying birds, the big cats and Australian wildlife, and I'm definitely more comfortable with a pen in my hand than a brush. Basically it's thousands of tiny lines and dots (dot work in black and white is called 'stippling', in colour it's called 'pointillism') with a very fine pen (.05 mm).
I sell limited edition and open edition fine art prints as well as originals and commissions. I am a member of the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia, The Queensland Wildlife Art Society and Bowral District Art Society and exhibit regularly in their exhibitions. I also have a presence on Instagram, Facebook and Etsy.
My fascination with capturing the beauty around me is expanding into a variety of merchandise which can be purchased from my Etsy Store.

“The truth is: the natural world is changing. And we are totally dependent on that world. It provides our food, water and air. It is the most precious thing we have and we need to defend it."
"In our hands now lies not only our own future, but that of all other living creatures with whom we share the earth.”
― David Attenborough
