Koalas in Serious Trouble

The World Wildlife Fund Australia recently released a report which estimates there are likely less than 20,000 koalas left in NSW and at the current rate they are on track to be extinct in the state by as early as 2050.

This is due to excessive tree-clearing following repeal of the NSW Native Vegetation Act in August 2017.  The proposed new laws would permit bulldozing of 99% of identified koala habitat on private land in the state.  The NSW Government is responsible for opening the floodgates to the destruction of koala forests and woodlands on a scale we have not seen for more than 20 years.  They need to urgently strengthen the laws to ensure koalas and other threatened native animals are given the protections they need.

Do you want to keep koalas alive in the wild for future generations?

I'm still reeling from the shocking statistics released by the World Wildlife Fund a couple of days ago - over half of our vertebrate population GONE !!  They say it's not too late to turn things around, but how do you get the whole world to sit up and take notice ??  Feeling hopeless ....

I'd like to share a pine cone with you!  This little drawing is significant in that it was one of the first drawings I did with a pen - my signature style of very fine detail Pen & Ink work, which I love and for which I'm known for, gradually evolved from this point.

Hi Everyone, thanks so much for visiting my website!

I've always been 'arty' and always loved nature and all things furry, feathered or scaled.  I used to catch butterflies and keep them in my bedroom for a while when I was little.

It's hard to explain but I feel a need to capture the things I love and share them in some way.

It started with developing my wildlife art practice and has recently led me into the exciting world of design - which of course is based on nature and the world around us!
